Our own enclosed gardens are ideal for our residents who enjoy being outside, no matter the weather. Our gardens are a great place for our residents to talk with their loved ones, take a stroll around the grounds and enjoy the sunshine when the days are warmer and longer.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to get closer to nature, go for a wander, or simply unwind with a cup of tea (or glass of wine) and some home baking, then our large beautiful gardens and patio area are the perfect place to venture to as and when you get the urge.

We’ll encourage and assist all of our residents to participate in a variety of garden projects, so whether they’re a seasoned gardener or only just starting their green thumb journey, there’s plenty of space in our private gardens for them to do more of what they enjoy.

Get Your Hands Dirty

When it comes to our garden, our residents can participate in a variety of activities, from planting new crops to tending to those that have already begun to flourish. We urge all of our residents to try gardening and see what wonderful results they may achieve.

Whether they’re a gardening expert or not, our teams can offer plenty of help if they need it. We enjoy showing our residents that it’s fine to let their inner gardener out, and you shouldn’t be afraid to get your hands a little bit dirty. Allowing our residents to get their hands messy is a great way for them to meet new people while also increasing their sense of ownership and independence.

At Deeside, we encourage all of our residents to follow their interests. Whether it’s something they’ve done their whole lives or something they’d like to do for the first time, we love to see all of our residents getting involved, trying new things and seeing what sticks. Our private gardens are the perfect place to reconnect with nature. We encourage all of our residents to enjoy the peace, quiet and ultimate tranquillity that our gardens provide by taking a stroll around them, or even by sitting on a comfortable bench and reading their favourite book.

If you’re feeling artistic, we also recommend trying to sketch some of the wildlife who have decided to make Deeside their home, or take a few photos if you’re feeling particularly tech savvy. There’s something for everyone, even if you’re not particularly into your gardening.

Afternoon Tea in the Grounds

On a beautiful summer’s day, our gardens are the ideal place for our residents and their loved ones to enjoy a slice of cake and a cup of tea (or something stronger!). We offer home-baking sessions as part of our activity schedule, so it’s really a win-win situation.

What to expect at Deeside

We know that it’s so important for our resident’s lives to remain (for the most part) unchanged, especially during their initial transitional period. Our teams also understand just how crucial it is to establish unique and essential bonds with each and every one of our residents. That’s why, at Deeside, we really highlight the relationships that form between many of our carers and our residents. After all, nobody should feel alone at Deeside.
