Exploring Aberdeen’s Outdoors with Deeside Care Home’s Rickshaw Rides

Residents at Deeside Care Home have been making the most of the warmer weather and beautiful local surroundings through our popular rickshaw rides, offering the perfect opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, explore familiar places and spend time together outside of the home.

The latest outing saw residents head to Hazelhead Park, where they enjoyed taking in the scenery, spotting familiar sights and travelling through the park in comfort on the rickshaw cycles. The visit brought back many happy memories, with residents reminiscing about family picnics, days out and special moments spent at the park with their children when they were younger.

These trips are about so much more than simply getting outdoors. They provide valuable opportunities for conversation, connection and reminiscence, helping residents continue to enjoy the places and experiences that hold meaning for them. Whether chatting about memories from the past, enjoying the sunshine or simply taking in the surroundings, every ride creates moments to treasure.

The outings are also a wonderful way for residents to build friendships beyond Deeside Care Home. Residents and staff from our sister home, Laurels Lodge Care Home, joined us for the rickshaw rides, allowing everyone to spend time together, share stories and enjoy new experiences as part of our wider community.

Back at Deeside, the afternoon continued outdoors, with residents making the most of the sunshine in the garden. A friendly game of badminton brought plenty of smiles and laughter, creating another opportunity for residents to stay active, socialise and enjoy time together.

Spending time outdoors has many benefits for wellbeing, from encouraging gentle movement and improving mood to providing a sense of independence and adventure. At Deeside Care Home, we are always looking for ways to support residents in continuing the activities and experiences they enjoy.

If you are looking for a care home where your loved one can remain active, connected and involved in meaningful experiences, get in touch with our friendly team today to arrange a visit and see life at Deeside Care Home for yourself.
