Celebrating International Nurses Day
Deeside Care Home proudly celebrated International Nurses Day 2025 on May 12th, joining communities around the globe in honouring the incredible contributions of nurses to healthcare. This year's theme, "Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies," highlights the essential connection between the well being of nurses and the strength and sustainability of health systems worldwide.
Originating in 1965, International Nurses Day was inspired by Dorothy Sutherland of the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and has been officially support by the International Council of Nurses since 1974. Each year, the day is marked with educational campaigns, public events, and heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and compassion of nursing professionals.
At Deeside Care Home, our nurses are the heart of our care community. Their professionalism, empathy, and commitment play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive exceptional, person-centred support every day.
