Life at Deeside Care Home

At Deeside Care Home we offer a tailored experience for each of our residents and our dedicated staff are delighted to cater for your every need. We’ve highlighted some key information about life at Deeside, however if you require any further information please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Delicious and nutritious meals are prepared onsite by our in-house cook and catering staff using local suppliers for meat, fruit and vegetables. We believe that a well-balanced and varied diet is very important in keeping and improving your health. Our staff will soon get to know your food preferences, are happy to discuss any special dietary needs or changing of menus.

  • Breakfast is served between 8am and 10.30am in the dining room
  • Lunch is served at 12.30 in the main dining room
  • Supper is served at 16.45 in the main dining room

Beverages and snacks are served throughout the day in lounges. Room service is also available.

There is always something interesting and stimulating going on at Deeside. Our full time Activities Coordinator organises regular social events including bus outings, shopping trips as well as games such as bingo, dominoes, cards and arts and crafts. We like to encourage and support our residents’ with their hobbies and any suggestions for activities are always welcome!

We have strong links with the local community and offer weekly services, sing-alongs and coffee mornings at the local church.

Birthdays are celebrated with a party and you will also receive a complimentary birthday cake. Private functions can be arranged.

A hairdresser is employed by the home and visits Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to3pm each week.

A newspaper is delivered daily and weekly magazines are also available at reception. Arrangements can be made have your own newspaper or magazine delivered.

Incoming letters and parcels are delivered daily.  Residents who are unable to post their own mail should discuss alternative arrangements with our Administrator.

There is a telephone point in each of our bedrooms and this can be activated at resident’s request.

We welcome visitors at any time of the day.  For reasons of security, it is helpful to know if any visitors are expected after 9pm.

Your personal items of clothing will be laundered and returned to your room from our own in-house laundry service. Any items which require dry cleaning will be at resident’s own arrangement and cost.

The Care Home accepts without reservation the overwhelming evidence that smoking is a major cause of preventable illness and death, and that the adverse effects of smoking fall not only those who themselves smoke but also on non-smokers who are exposed in their working and domestic environments to the smoke of others. Therefore Deeside Care Home is a no smoking environment.
